If you were building a house

Places inhabited by us humans are characterized by being dotted with various immovable objects. Everywhere where people live there are at least some houses, even if only isolated. But in the case of our country, there are more rather than fewer of them together, and sometimes even so many that they form entire housing estates. What can I tell you, right? But such houses have never come into being and never will come into being on their own. It may be said sometimes that houses grow like mushrooms after rain somewhere, but if we were sitting in a downpour waiting for a new house to appear, we wouldn\’t be waiting. And that\’s why we humans have to build our own houses.

But building a house is not easy. We all know that, or at least we suspect it. And those who don\’t know may try and soon give up their futile attempts. Because it\’s not as much fun as watching the comedy In the Woods might make it seem. And building a house isn\’t hard and complicated just because you have to get the materials and usually some craftsmen. You have to know how to do it, the conditions have to be there. And, of course, we must not underestimate the bureaucratic issues involved. When a house is built, of course, a very solid foundation must first be built. They may not be visible in the future, but they must be there. Otherwise, the house we build will start to cave in and collapse. That is why the foundations must not be underestimated.

Then the perimeter walls are usually built. And they should be vertical so that they don\’t collapse over time. And of course, they should also be made of good quality bricks or blocks or panels, and no expense should be spared on mortar either. As the comedy The Tramp shows us for a change. Which is only funny in comedy, not in real life. Then it has to be roofed properly, so that we don\’t get leaks, snow and so on. Windows need to be planted so we can see out and possibly in, and doors need to be planted so we can open them for ourselves and welcome visitors and slam them in the faces of others. And the foundation is there. That\’s the house. And we can continue to improve it as we see fit.
