The Joker, or Villain, is not born a villain, but becomes one

Since the beginning of October, the Joker has been in theaters following DC Comics films such as “The Dark Knight,” “Batman Begins” and “The Dark Knight Rises.” Unlike the above films, however, the Joker is in a slightly different genre. So if you are expecting an action spectacle based on an epic storyline, you will probably be in for a big disappointment. Director Todd Phillips has previously specialized in less intellectual comedies such as “Party in Vegas,” “Party in Bangkok,” and “Party on Third,” but in “Joker,” a mentally disturbed sociopathic young man becomes almost antisocial in the film is a great combination of psychological portrayal of the two.

The story of “The Joker” takes place in dark and dirty Gotham-the city is a pile of trash, sanitation is at its worst, and rats roam the streets. Crime is on the rise and social security is abysmal. Living in such a place would scar a strong, healthy person, let alone a mentally ill, unstable, crippled Arthur Fleck. He is seen by a psychiatrist who prescribes medication for depression, but it does not work at all, despite the many medications he takes. At night he takes care of his mother, who has become old and sickly. One day, however, an unfortunate accident costs him his job and the possibility of psychiatric or psychosomatic treatment, and he learns about his mother, that she did not treat him at all as a mother should treat her son, and that she did not always tell him the truth. Already mentally ill and unstable, Arthur is not accepted by society at all because of his disorder (uncontrollable fits of laughter), and he reaches a point where he has nothing to lose. And when one has nothing to lose, one can become absorbed in something from which there is no turning back.

Arthur Fleck begins to ignore boundaries and take revenge on those who have previously wronged him in some way. As time goes on, he falls more and more into the clutches of chaos and begins to feel that this is where he always wanted to be. All his life, his mother has told him to smile. But when he should smile, he doesn\’t. He becomes a joker, but not entirely of his own volition.
