Everyone has heard of regular sports like soccer, field hockey, and tennis, but few people know about e-sports, even though some have been around for over a decade. However, they are not well known to the general public, matches are not televised, and spectators, even at events like the World Cup, are made up solely of enthusiasts, not the general public. So let us consider why this type of sport is not popular. But first, we must explain what this sport is all about. In a nutshell, it is a video game competition in which individual players compete against each other.
These include League of Legends, Super Smash Bros. All of these games pit two or more players against each other, with only one winner. And indeed, some matches are truly entertaining, rivaling, for example, classic soccer or field hockey. The problem is that video games, especially because of the media, have a pretty bad reputation. The public does not view video games favorably. Furthermore, for children and adults who are still living with their mothers at age 30, they are seen as mere entertainment. 24]
The fact that many of the top-level contestants are ordinary adults with very ordinary jobs and families misses them entirely.37] Furthermore, at least in our terms, promotion is essentially non-existent. Even if one of our players wins, there is no coverage of it on TV or in the newspapers. For example, the Czechs won the Pokémon World Card Game Championship last year, but this was not mentioned anywhere. It would be nice to see more publicity for these sports. It\’s a shame that they are almost deprived of this spectacle because they simply don\’t know they have so much to offer the general public.
